The purpose of the training is to provide its participants with project management knowledge and practical use of MS Project program. The trainees will first learn specific theoretical issues in managing projects, which is the basis of effective use of MS Project program.
During the training we will discuss the rules of creating and implementation a proper schedule in MS Project program, its analyses and project costs supervision.
The participants will know the methods of not only assigning resources to tasks but also controlling and balancing the resources. They will learn to influence the start or finish date of the project and determine project critical paths.
Apart from defining project tasks and creating relations between them, the participants will also acquire the knowledge how to make a project base plan and supervise the work on the project. They will also be presented the methods of introduction work progress into the project plan and how it affects the tasks which are not yet completed.
The participants will know the fundamental stages of a project:
- Determining factors regarding project completion (including the scope, vision, assumptions, project targets, its threats and constraints),
- Planning (creating a schedule):
- Determining project tasks and creating relations between them,
- Defining and assigning resources to tasks,
- Making project analysis and resource allocation,
- Project task execution:
- Saving project base plan,
- Tracking project execution,
- Creating project execution reports.
The participants will receive the following training materials:
- A training script which consists of the compendium of knowledge regarding the issues of project planning and managing in MS Project program,
Within three months from the date of completing the course, in case of any problems with operating MS Project program, each participant will have the possibility to contact the lecturer free of charge.

The training is held in the form of workshops. The participants work with MS Project performing practical exercises. This allows them to gain skills in the use of the program rapidly and in creating schedules and the methods of executing them.
The training begins with a short lecture in the field of project management theory. The trainer also introduces theoretical elements during the exercises, and, as a consequence, the participants are able to reflect the theoretical issues of project planning and managing in their schedules.
It is the best form of acquiring knowledge on not only using Ms Project, but also on how to use practical and useful scheduling (planning) and project execution cases.
Before the training, the lecturer also diagnoses the students’ preferences for the thematic scope of their projects (whether they regard construction, IT or production). Such a method enables, during the training, to perform practical exercises tailored to their needs.
There is also a possibility to send files or a list of preferences to the lecturer, before the course starts, so the training exercises can be “made to measure” the needs of our Clients.
Each participant performs practical exercises on MS Project, at a computer station which is at his or her disposal at the time of training.
The training is 3-day long and includes 28 teaching hours. There are brunch and coffee breaks planned as well.
In order to increase the training effectiveness, the courses are held in small groups – up to 10 people.
AkKom company also realizes the trainings in scheduling in a form which is “tailor-made” to the Client’s needs. Such a method allows to adjust both the scope and substantive content of the program to the needs of a certain company.
The participants of such a training can create schedules, that are customized to their work specificity. In this case, it is also possible to send exemplary work files with the Client’s project scope to the AkKom lecturer, but also to establish a meeting to specify individual requirements of the Client’s company.
These dedicated trainings are delivered on the grounds that there are at least 7 training participants. Trainings in such a form can also be conducted in the Client’s headquarters or any other place inside or outside the country. This option is available thanks to mobile training facilities (laptops) of AkKom company.
